Chin-Kun Wang

Biography

Dr. Chin-Kun Wang is a member of the Nutrition Advisory Board. He is also a distinguished professor at Chung Shan Medical University in Taiwan. As an expert in metabolism and nutrition, Dr. Wang focuses his research on human metabolism and the clinical evaluation of nutritional supplements, nutraceuticals, functional foods and herbs.

Dr. Wang serves as a council member for the International Academy of Food Science and Technology and is a fellow at both the International Union of Food Science and Technology as well as the International Society for Nutraceuticals and Functional Foods. He is chair of the Global Harmonization Initiative and a visiting professor at the School of Medicine at Seoul National University as well as Tokyo Medical and Dental University. He is also the President of World Food Congress, IUFoST 2026.

As the president of Chung Shan Medical University, Dr. Wang took on responsibility for 5,500 staffs, a medical center and 7,000 students. He also served as president of the International Society for Nutraceuticals and Functional Foods and the Nutrition Society of Taiwan. He helped shape a national nutrition law to protect human health and prevent diseases.

Dr. Wang has authored and coauthored a number of articles and papers in his area of expertise. He received his M.D. and Ph.D. from National Taiwan University, and in 2008, he was awarded the National Award of Biomedicine in Taiwan for his contribution to medical education. Dr. Wang stays healthy and active by jogging, meditating, practicing yoga, playing the saxophone and enjoying nature.
