Nourishing Futures through the Herbalife Family Foundation

Herbalife 23 December 2024

The Herbalife Family Foundation (HFF) is a global non-profit and public charity dedicated to realizing our Founder’s vision: enhancing the lives of children and communities around the world. Through our Casa Herbalife program, we've provided over 206,000 children across global communities with the nutrition they need to lead fulfilling lives.

We support more than 178 Casa Programs across the globe, positively impacting countless children and families. In 2023 alone, we served more than 206,000 children and their communities. We invite you to explore some of their stories, with the hope of inspiring you to make a difference in your own communities in any way you can.

Casa Peter Pan, Casa Oz and Casa SOS Villaggi dei Bambini, Italy

HFF is proud to support three impactful organisations in Italy. At Casa Oz in Turin, HFF helps create a welcoming environment for families dealing with serious illness by providing meals, nutrition education through cooking labs, and opportunities for cultural exchange.

In Rome, the Peter Pan organisation supports families of children with cancer by offering accommodation and nutritious meals. HFF enhances their experience by funding cooking workshops and kitchen upgrades, ensuring a healthy diet during challenging times.

SOS Villaggi dei Bambini, a global network dedicated to children without family care, benefits from HFF’s support in promoting balanced diets and healthy lifestyles. The partnership funds programs that teach children about nutrition and involve them in meal preparation.

Through these collaborations, HFF has helped to improve the nutrition and well-being of over two thousand children to date, contributing to a brighter future.

Casa CDR Sečovce, Slovakia

For over 14 years, HFF has partnered with CDR Sečovce in Slovakia, significantly enhancing the lives of disadvantaged children. Through HFF’s generous support, the Casa has improved child nutrition, upgraded food preparation facilities, and provided essential education and recreation activities. One inspiring story is that of Kristian. Born into a challenging situation, Kristian faced numerous obstacles from an early age. However, with an encouraging social environment,  nutritional support and educational initiatives, his cognitive abilities improved, fuelling his passion for healthy living and cooking. Now excelling in high school and currently interning in Cyprus, Kristian’s remarkable transformation underscores the profound impact of HFF’s commitment to fostering better futures through nutrition and education.

Casa Aldeas Infantiles, Spain

Aldeas Infantiles, part of the global SOS Children's Villages network, has been supporting vulnerable children in Spain since 1967, focusing on creating protective family environments and strengthening community networks. In 2023, HFF provided vital support by donating funds to improve the nutrition of 300 children, supplying daily snacks for seven months, and offering 180 families economic food vouchers worth 150 euros each. This assistance is essential, as proper nutrition plays a critical role in children's growth and future opportunities. HFF's contributions extend beyond financial aid, with direct involvement, including visits by former athletes, reinforcing Herbalife’s commitment to enhancing lives through better nutrition. This mission aligns seamlessly with Aldeas Infantiles’ goals, ensuring that children receive the nourishment and opportunities they need to thrive. Thanks to ongoing support from Herbalife's community, through donation campaigns and events, a meaningful difference continues to be made in the lives of these children and their families.

Casa Kalben, Turkey

In Turkey, HFF collaborates with the Kalben Association to support children living under state protection. Kalben provides these children with developmental and psychosocial support, helping them integrate into society. Herbalife's contributions, which include financial donations and active volunteer involvement, fund educational materials, nutritional needs, and interactive workshops.

A highlight of this partnership is the “Healthy Life Workshops,” now in its fourth year, where children engage in hands-on kitchen activities to learn about balanced nutrition, healthy habits, and food sustainability. HFF also organizes two weekly dining events during the school term, offering nutritious meals to the children. Additionally, a Kitchen Workshop is held every Saturday, where children cook different meals together, promoting healthy eating, social interaction, and teamwork.

Thanks to HFF’s support, many children have become more aware of healthy living, aligning perfectly with Herbalife’s mission to promote healthier lives. This collaboration continues to make a meaningful impact on the lives of vulnerable children in Turkey, contributing to a brighter, healthier future.

Casa “Ana and Children” Association, Romania

Ana and Children” Association, founded in 2007, provides essential services to 200 children and 100 families across Bucharest and nearby regions. With Herbalife’s support, they have realised their dream of building Romania’s largest Day Centre dedicated to children from disadvantaged backgrounds. This project, valued at over €1.7 million, was made possible through contributions from Herbalife Romania, HFF, and local sponsors. All children at Casa “Ana and Children” benefit from balanced, nutritious meals funded by HFF. Over the past seven years, Herbalife has also actively supported the Casa through fundraising at events, facilitating nutrition workshops and providing educational resources to promote healthy eating. These workshops, led by food bloggers and recycling experts, teach children about nutritious meals and sustainable practices. The collaboration with HFF inspires ongoing commitment by enhancing the lives of children and fostering positive community change.

Casa "Ana and Children" Association, Roemenië

Casa Meiyuan, Taiwan

Casa Meiyuan, nestled in the remote mountains of Miaoli, Taiwan, supports 60 indigenous children from underprivileged backgrounds. Many of these children face nutritional challenges due to unreliable meal sources, often being cared for by grandparents or older siblings. Since partnering with Herbalife in 2020, Casa Meiyuan has received essential support, including daily kids' shakes, meal subsidies, and nutrition education. Each year, 60-100 Herbalife distributors volunteer at events, engaging with the children through activities and providing nutritious shakes. Herbalife also contributes to facility maintenance and supplies training materials for educators.

Casa Meiyuan proudly hosts a wrestling team and Herbalife’s products have been a great addition to the children’s diets, ensuring they get great nutrition ahead of competing. Over the past year, the team has achieved new milestones in their physical performance and success in various competitions.

Herbalife’s mission to improve lives through better nutrition perfectly aligns with Casa Meiyuan’s goals, ensuring every child receives the support they need for a healthier, brighter future.

Yayasan Chow Kit, Malaysia

Yayasan Chow Kit (YCK) is a 24-hour crisis and drop-in centre providing meals, activities, therapy, case management, and education for at-risk children and teens in Chow Kit, Kuala Lumpur. Through HFF’s funds, Herbalife has supported YCK’s food programs, addressing the growing community needs post-pandemic and during high inflation. Our goal is to reduce food insecurity, raise awareness on hunger issues, and promote community involvement.

Herbalife’s initiatives include a Nutrition Program for parents and their children, lunch packs with balanced meals, grocery aid to 100 families for two years during the pandemic, and hiring a staff member to cook nutritious meals for the children at the shelter. As a result, children are healthier and more focused in school.
