Herbalife Teas: Ingredients, Benefits and Flavors
Luigi Gratton, M.D., MPH – Vice President, Training 14 October 2024
Did you know that tea is the most widely consumed beverage in the world right after water? It's steeped in history and rich in tradition, enjoyed by people all around the globe as a daily ritual.
Tea offers more than just flavor and aroma; it also contributes to your well-being. Green, black and herbal teas contain flavonoids and phytonutrients that can provide you with antioxidant support and boost a feeling of energy or relaxation.
Green Tea and Black Tea Benefits
Both green and black tea are made from the Camellia sinensis plant and are rich in flavonoids. Flavonoids, which are a type of phytonutrients, help to fight oxidative stress in the body.
- Green tea is packed with these health-promoting polyphenols, which can act as antioxidants.
- Black tea can provide an increased feeling of energy because of the natural caffeine. It also contains theaflavins, a unique group of polyphenols that may support cardiovascular health.
Herbal Tea Benefits
Herbal teas are made from a range of various herbs, plants, fruits and spices other than leaves from Camellia sinensis. One example is chamomille, which may promote relaxation and restful sleep.

At Herbalife, we understand the importance of hydration. For more than 40 years, we have harnessed the power of plants in our tea products that reflect our commitment to our customers: to deliver high-quality products and ingredients that are convenient and can be enjoyed any time of day.
Herbal Tea Concentrate
Herbal Tea Concentrate is our flagship tea product. It’s a refreshing, low-calorie instant tea mix made with a special blend of ingredients, including green tea, black tea and orange pekoe extract. Containing approximately 85 milligrams of caffeine, our tea concentrate can give you a boost to make you feel revitalized. It also provides antioxidants and, most importantly, hydration for your body.
Herbal Tea Concentrate is available in various flavors, including:
- Original
- Lemon
- Raspberry
- Peach
- Cinnamon
- Chai
Green Tea
Made with green tea extract, this concentrate is a refreshing beverage with 25 milligrams of caffeine per serving. We infuse the product with a natural pomegranate flavor and use a natural sweetener derived from the stevia leaf. As a result, this instant tea has zero calories and doesn’t have any added artificial flavors, colors or sweeteners.
Our Green Tea is made with non-GM ingredients and antioxidants that help protect against free radicals. An excessive chronic amount of free radicals in the body causes a condition called oxidative stress, which may damage cells and lead to chronic diseases.
Relaxation Tea
Our refreshing peppermint-flavored Relaxation Tea is made with a soothing herbal blend that uses lemon balm as the driver. This tea supports relaxation and helps to cope with occasional stress.
Our Relaxation Tea is made with non-GM ingredients, is gluten-free and kosher certified, and has no added caffeine.
N-R-G Nature’s Raw Guarana Tea Mix
This tea can help you feel recharged with its uplifting flavor blend of guarana seed extract, orange pekoe and lemon peel. It provides 40 milligrams of caffeine per serving, increases mental alertness and provides a gentle pick-me-up.
How Our Tea Extraction Process Works
Our extracts are made with rigorous high-quality standards from well-established suppliers and a team of experts. At our Herbalife Innovation & Manufacturing (H.I.M.) facility in Changsha, China, we ensure raw materials match our strict specifications to deliver rigorous quality standards.
There are several stages involved in producing our popular tea products:
- Sourcing. Quality begins with using premium ingredients, which is why we source our tea from farmers who have been harvesting it for generations in one of the oldest and most fertile regions: the Fujian province in China.
- Botanical identification. To validate our ingredients' integrity, we use technologically advanced equipment and botanical DNA identification processes to confirm the authenticity, origin and quality of each botanical ingredient.
- Extraction and filtration. At this stage, dried tea leaves are mixed with hot water, resulting in the tea extract. The tea extract is then filtered for clarity.
- Evaporation. In this second stage, the extract is evaporated using vacuum and heat, creating the concentrated native extract.
- Drying. Finally, by using air to dry the concentrated native extract, a dry powder version is created.
This comprehensive process is a testament to our commitment to high-quality standards that consumers can trust.
